Permitting Process

The developers of the Teanaway Solar Reserve have chosen to go through Kittitas County’s rigorous permitting process out of respect for area residents and for the officials elected to represent their interests. The Teanaway Solar Reserve must apply for and obtain a Conditional Use Permit as well as prove that it complies with the Federal Clean Water Act, the Federal Historic Preservation Act and the State Environmental Policy Act. In addition, the process includes opportunities for the public to ask questions and raise concerns. The Teanaway Solar Reserve envisions this as a first step towards a long-standing relationship with the people who live, work and enjoy recreational activities in Kittitas County.
