Weather
Contrary to public perception, PV systems generate power in all types of weather. The proposed site of the Teanaway Solar Reserve boasts a southern exposure and receives an average of more than 300 days of sunlight a year. During the summer months, it will produce electricity 12-15 hours a day. Even on the cloudiest days, it will operate at about 25% of its maximum capacity. A well-engineered and regularly monitored system featuring angled panels will continue to generate in snowy conditions.
